Greatest Light-heavyweights of All Time

Many of the greatest to ever do it at this weight were never officially champion.  The issue of racism rears its head in this weight class, with many of the division’s top practitioners from the first half of the century being denied their rightful place.  Many old-time greats fought in many divisions and it can be difficult to isolate their prime into one division.  Without many of them having won titles at 175lbs, it’s not always clear.

 

Every fight fan has his own idea of what greatness is, and more often than not the list will feature an inordinate number of his contemporaries because those are the fighters he knows best. I've tried hard for that not to be the case regarding who is best within the classic 8 weight divisions. So without further adieu, here is one man’s opinion of who occupies boxing’s Light-heavyweight Mount Olympus. Let the arguing begin.
